DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADJUST THE PICTURE

In the grand scheme of things, the war in the Middle East is a part of what's to come, not the cause."

The above prediction is from a time traveler named John Titor. He communicated exclusively through the web using various message boards under the assumed name TimeTravel_0. Eventually he revealed his true name John Titor. Titor claimed to be an American Soldier from the 2030's, he said he was a 13 year old boy in 2011 when he fought for the "Fighting Diamondbacks; an apparent shotgun militia out of Florida.

Titor was sent back through time to 1975 to retrieve a IBM-5100 desktop computer. There was a type of archaic coding in this system that they no longer had in the future, and he was chosen to complete this mission because his grandfather had been on the the team of developers who designed the IBM 5100. He made a stop in the year 2000 for "personal reasons", most likely to collect family pictures and memorabilia that had been destroyed in the war.

He went on for about a year telling people of the world's soon to be history. Such claims include: "In 2015, Russia launches a nuclear strike against the major cities in the United States (which is the "other side" of the civil war from my perspective), China, and Europe. The United States counter attacks. The US cities are destroyed along with the AFE (American Federal Empire)...thus we (in the country) won. The European Union and China were also destroyed."

Other favorite predictions of mine are that Omaha Nebraska would be the USA's new capital, the second American Civil War begins in 2004, and that there will be no more official Olympics after 2006.

One rather chilling prediction is that CERN was about to develop technology that would make time travel possible. For those who don't know CERN is the organization that built the Large Hadron Collider which many believed would created a miniature black hole, which Titor is saying made it possible for him to travel back to our time.

Titor even goes as far as revealing pictures of his Time Travel Machine.


What I love about this story is that some nerd that was playing 'make pretend' on the internet convinced thousands of people that he was a time traveler. So much that there have been books, articles, and entire websites dedicated to the myth of Titor. See John Titor dot com Thousands still believe and explain away the false predictions with theories about time loops, quantum physics, multidimensional blah blah blah. All of which are too boring to get into to.

The guys over at Hoax Hunter claim they have officially debunked the Titor hoax. Check out these videos:




I really don't think this completely debunks the myth, people will believe in Titor until he officially reveals himself.
